Perviously, twenty questions were asked of the members of Perfume in 2003, around the launch of their official website. To commemorate this, the members have answered these questions again, and ten new questions were added. Original answers are also included for comparison. (source: GAME Tour Book)

1. Do you read a lot of books? Please share a recommendation with us.

A magazine called “anan”. It’s really good!
(Previous answer) I do read a lot! My manga recommendation is “Tennen Hachimitsu Ryou”, and books… there’s so many there’s no way to pick just one! (>_<)

2. What is your favourite sport? To watch, and do participate in?

I enjoy watching figure skating!!! Much love for Asada Mao! As for participating in, I like short distance running. :-) It’s really refreshing!
(Previous answer) I like most any sport except the bloody ones, like boxing.

3. What drama, anime, or movie that you’ve seen has been the most moving?

Drama – “Fuyu no Sonata*” (Winter Sonata) Yon is so cool! But then again, Yujin’s tears are so moving.
(Previous answer) A movie called “Beautiful”. Or the anime “Flander’s Dog.”

4. No reservations! What is your weak point?

I’m not very considerate of others.
(Previous answer) I’m really indecisive.

5. What is something you can be proud of about yourself?

The way I love lounging around in my pajamas!
(Previous answer) My very cute smile!

6. Is there someone, something, or some animal that people often say you resemble?

Hmmm. When I was young, people told me I look like Takahashi Ai*. But she’s SO cute, they couldn’t have really meant it. (>_<) So we’ll go with “African daisy” <3 :-)

7. What is the one food that you hate so much that you’d rather starve to death than eat?

Well, I am sure if there really was nothing but this in the world, I would eat it. But if it was green peas, I’d probably skip eating a lot.
(Previous answer) Perhaps liver.

8. What is the one food that you love so much that you’d be content or even happy to eat only that for the rest of your life?

Fruit <3 Ahh, and ice cream <3
(Previous answer) Ochazuke*, tomatoes, Otsukemono**

9. While we’re on the topic, what’s your favourite beverage?

Zero-calorie carbonated drinks, mineral water.
(Previous answer) Orange juice… maybe.

10. Who, or what kind of person, do you admire and respect?

My family, my teacher Ms. Mizuno, and artistic people.
(Previous answer) People who don’t bring down others, but are strong-willed.

11. If you had a time machine, what time would you want to go and visit?

Since we already understand much of our history, I want to go to the future! To when I’m 25, 35, or 40.
(Previous answer) To the time my younger brother and sister were born.

12. Do you have a prized possession?

The telegram from when “Waratte Ii Tomo” invited us to perform, and the flowers and letters from our fans.
(Previous answer) When I was younger, it was my Sailor Moon collectables (like my compact). But now, it’s my family.

13. Tell us how you enjoy spending a day off.

Lock myself up in the house. Then I go to the chiropractor. (*^-^*) It’s so refreshing!
(Previous answer) Practice at the studio, or dally about at home.

14. How do you calm down when you are stressed?

Sing. Any time of day, even just a single note.
(Previous answer) Sing my heart out! Dance my feet off! And scream!!! :-)

15. Where do you go to unwind?

I soak in the bath.
(Previous answer) I guess just to my room.

16. What makes you think, “Wow, I’ve really become an adult?”

When I stopped picking pink for everything!!
(Previous answer) I’m still a kid...

17. What have been the three best things in your life so far?

1. Our many one-man* concerts. We’ve been lucky to have been on stages both big and small and I love them all! It makes us so happy to see everyone so excited! 2. Performing at big-scale festivals!! I get really nervous, but it’s such a great feeling! 3. Various birthdays that I’ve celebrated. The most impressive ones were the one in Kameido, and my 19th birthday.
(Previous answer) One is being born happy and healthy into this world. Releasing our debut CD. The way my family supported my own goals even though it wasn’t what they had hoped for me.

18. Are there any artists that you’ve started liking or been influenced by recently?

I’ve started taking a liking to Superfly, and have been influenced by SPEED and aiko.

19. In one word, describe your personality.

Boisterous (hehe)
(Previous answer) Goofball!! :-) Well… I say so myself, but I don’t really mean it.

20. Describe the other two members of Perfume in your own words.

Kashiyuka -> Diligent. Nocchi -> She sets her own pace and moves to her own rhythm.
(Previous answer) Kashiyuka -> She’s like a favourite pet cat. Nocchi -> If I had to sum her up in one word, it’d be “space alien!!” No mistake about it! (^o^)

21. What is your favourite four-character idiom*?

一生懸命 (isshou kenmei) (with all my might; giving it my best; (trying) very hard), or 七転八起 (shichiten hakki) (if at first you don’t succeed, try try again; pick yourself up by the bootstraps, overcoming all setbacks).
* Four-character idioms are a combination of four kanji that usually (or maybe always) are read with their Chinese readings. They are roughly equivalent to a “proverb” in English. These are plentiful in the Japanese language.

22. Do you have a jinx?

I always use the same mechanical pencil on the day of a test. On the day of a concert, I always fire up by shouting “頑張るぞっ、オー!”*
* “ganbaruzo, oh!”, a commonly used phrase that roughly translates to “I’ll give it my best shot”, but seems to exude much more confidence.

23. What is something that you like when a guy does?

When looks down and away while smiling because he’s too shy to look me in the eye. It’s cute.

24. What kind of woman do you think is admirable?

Shinohara Ryoko*. She’s positively wonderful!!!!!
* actress and singer (Tokyo Performance Doll, solo)

25. What is a destination that you would like to visit overseas?

Italy. Even just saying it sounds so cool! :-)

26. What is something that you would be troubled over if you lost?

My family. I just can’t make it without them.

27. What do you think of when I say, “Shiny!”?

Rhinestones. I love sparkly, shiny things!

28. Describe yourself by filling in the blank: ___ girl.

Lucky girl! Or at least I’d like to think so.

29. What is a game that you’ve gotten into recently?

Acchi muite hoi!* Don’t make light of this, it’s so fun!!! :-)
* A follow-up game to a round of jankenpon (paper, rock, scissors)

30. If you were to watch a Perfume show from the audience seating, what section would you want to sit in?

The seats on the second floor reserved for relatives and special guests. There’s a lot of room up there to dance freely and get the guests drawn into the excitement!
